Last week, our newsletter reported on the discussion at the State Board of Education April meeting related to TEKS and future IMRA cycles. At the SBOE General Meeting on April 9, Texas Education Agency Staff presented several options for consideration by the SBOE: 35 new CTE courses; advanced middle school mathematics for the implementation of HB 2124 and accelerated mathematics for tutorials; fine arts; and character education. The slides listing the new CTE courses are now available at this link.

As noted last week this was a discussion item and no action was taken by the SBOE. TEKS revisions and future IMRA cycles will be considered again at a future meeting.
