The House Committee substitute for SB 1, the budget bill, is scheduled to be debated on the House floor today. As noted in the HillCo Advisory updates last week, the House has adopted a calendar rule that states any amendments offered that increase funds must have an offsetting reduction. There are 401 pre-filed amendments but not every amendment filed will be brought up on the floor for debate. The House convenes at 9 a.m. and included on the calendar: discussions on the budget bill, several others bills on third reading, and HB 2, the supplemental budget bill. Discussions will last late into the night but It is possible the discussions may not conclude until sometime early tomorrow morning.

The Senate will meet today to take up their calendar at 10 a.m.
