For two days, a Texas House committee heard invited testimony regarding the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Clean Power Plan which would require each state to meet specific carbon dioxide emission goals by 2030, and an interim goal by 2020.

On September 16, the EPA gave the public 45 more days to weigh in on the plan. Comments on the Clean Power Plan Proposed Rule must be received by December 1, 2014. The EPA is still targeting the summer of 2015 to finalize the rules.

The EPA has received over 750,000 comments on the plan it unveiled in June.
