On February 2, House Speaker Dade Phelan spoke at the Texas Oil & Gas Association’s annual Ad Valorem Tax Conference in San Antonio. Afterwards, he tweeted summarizing the speech:
“The [Texas legislature] continues to prioritize [and] work on providing property tax relief, improving the appraisal system, and developing a program to replace Chapter 313, a crucial incentive program to attract businesses to Texas.”
Bills that would continue Chapter 313 agreements did not pass during the 87th session.
