During Governor Greg Abbott's State of the State this week he listed five emergency items to be immediately considered in the 84th Legislature: early education, higher education research initiatives, border security funding, transportation funding and ethics reforms. The Governor’s issuance of an emergency item message to the Legislature enables that measure to be considered within the first 60 days of the legislative session.
