On January 18, Census Bureau Director Steven Dillingham announced his retirement amid several concerns which can be found in this ROI from the Office of the Inspector General. His responses to the ROI can be found here and in a blog post that accompanied his retirement announcement. According to several media outlets, the Bureau’s current Associate Director for Economic Programs, Dr. Ron Jarmin, will serve as acting director until a new director is named and approved by the Senate. It has been reported that the 2020 Census Apportionment numbers will by ready by March 6th at the earliest.
