On July 23, The House Select Committee on Economic Development Incentives will hold an interim hearing.  The committee will meet for an overall examination of the use of incentives as an economic development tool. 
 
The meeting will be held at 10:00 AM in Capitol Extension room E2.012. Both invited and public testimony will be heard.

On June 20, just over one month ago, House Speaker Joe Straus created the committee giving them the charge to assess the economic benefit provided by state and local incentive programs and make recommendations to make those programs more effective and efficient.

Committee membership includes: Reps. Angie Chen Button (chair), Eddie Rodriguez (vice-chair), Trent Ashby, Joe Deshotel, John Kuempel, Jodie Laubenberg, JM Lozano, Borris Miles, Poncho Nevarez, Rene Oliveira, Mary Ann Perez, Drew Springer, and Jason Villalba.
