According to ERCOT’s Supply and Demand chart, today’s forecast exceeds all prior days. While adequate supply is forecasted for the day, supply and demand converge to drive forecasted prices upward. Demand is expected to rise all day toward 5pm when we reach 86,400MWs. That is over 1000 MWs more than the previous record set in the last couple of weeks. Current prices are low – negative in the south and approximately $20s-30 in the rest of the state.
