The current ERCOT forecast indicates a lower load than was expected this morning. Adequate supplies of power are expected, albeit tight, barring any unforeseen outages.
ERCOT has issued a conservation notice from 3 PM to 8 PM today due to “extreme temperatures, forecasted high demand and lower reserves” according to a news release.
ERCOT notes that they are not experiencing emergency conditions at this time.

ERCOT this morning was forecasting very tight conditions for the afternoon. Loads were expected to exceed 85,000 MWs again (85,000 was a new peak just a couple of weeks ago and has become almost common for July-August now). See below for morning and afternoon graphs.
