Governor Greg Abbott sent a letter on March 7th directing Texas Education Agency (TEA) Commissioner Mike Morath to create a task force to help school districts address ongoing staffing shortages across the state.
On March 10th the TEA announced the creation of the Teacher Vacancy Task Force and has published a webpage with information on the Task Force along with an option to submit a form for individuals who have an idea or would like to volunteer to present or be a panelist.
On March 15th the TEA announced the immediate expansion of the task force to include two dozen additional public school teachers.
