  • Last session was a tremendous success; passed school finance reforms and made major investments in students and teachers
  • Facing new challenges in the state, Texans have been challenged like never before over the past year, but state will emerge from this episode in superior fashion
  • All in the house and senate must come together and work together exactly like last session
  • Need to tackle challenges posed by COVID-19; must do more to address health care needs of people in the state, support law enforcement officers in keeping communities safe, safeguard freedoms guaranteed to Texans by US and Texas Constitutions, and get Texans back to work as quickly as possible
