Governor Abbott Names Hildebrand Chair, Appoints Doggett To Parks And Wildlife Commission
Governor Abbott announced the appointment of William “Leslie” Doggett to the Parks and Wildlife Commission for a term set to expire on February 1, 2029, and named Jeff Hildebrand as Chair of the Commission, both effective August 31, 2023. Doggett is executive chairman and founder of the Doggett Equipment Services Group and the Doggett Auto Group with 47 dealerships throughout Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New Mexico. Hildebrand is the executive chairman and founder of Hilcorp Energy Company. He is a member of All American Wildcatters, National Petroleum Council, and the Houston Geological Society.

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Cliff Thomas to the Permanent School Fund Corporation Board of Directors for a term to expire on January 1, 2029. Thomas is an owner and chairman of the board of Pilot Thomas Logistics and founder of Speedy Stop Food Stores and C.L. Thomas, Inc. From 2011 to 2023, he served as a gubernatorial appointee to the Texas A&M System Board of Regents and served as chairman of the board from 2015 to 2017.
Governor Abbott Appoints Four To Texas Department Of Motor Vehicles
Governor Abbott has appointed Darren Schlosser to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Board for a term set to expire on February 1, 2027. Additionally, he has reappointed John M. Prewitt, Paul R. Scott, and Brett H. Graham for terms set to expire on February 1, 2029. Schlosser is the sergeant of the Auto Theft Division – Vehicle Fraud Unit at the Houston Police Department. John M. Prewitt of Cypress is president of Tideport Distributing, Inc. in The Woodlands. Scott is president and CEO of Fiesta Motors-Fiesta Acceptance. Graham is owner and CEO of Graham International and Graham Truck Centers.
