The Texas Health and Human Services Commission has announced its intent to submit an amendment to the Texas State Plan for Medical Assistance under Title XIX of the Social Security Act. The proposed amendment is effective July 1, 2014.
 
The purpose of this amendment is to update the fee schedules in the current state plan by adjusting or implementing fees for Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies; Birthing Centers; Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment Services; and Physicians and Other Practitioners
 
The proposed amendment is estimated to result in an annual savings of $727,533 for federal fiscal year 2014. For FFY 2015, the estimated annual saving is $3,242,299. For FFY 2016, the estimated annual saving is $3,380,263.
