The Board of Directors of the Region 3 Education Service Center have selected Morris Lyon as the new Executive Director, effective July 15, 2021. Lyon has been a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent in Texas schools for two decades. He served as a member and leader in statewide organizations, including former President of the Texas Rural Education Association and served on the Executive Committee of Texas Association of School Administrators. Lyon is a graduate of Texas A&M-Commerce and is currently pursuing his EdD in School Improvement from UT-Tyler.
Lyon will follow Charlotte Baker, who is retiring after 41 years in education, 21 of which were at ESC 3, serving as Executive Director since 2017.
