During the State Board of Education General Meeting on June 28 (agenda here) the SBOE approved for first reading and filing adoption:
- Proposed New 19 TAC Chapter 67, State Review and Approval of Instructional Materials, Subchapter B, State Review and Approval, 67.43, Lists of Approved and Rejected Instructional Materials
- Proposed New 19 TAC Chapter 120, Other Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, Subchapter B, English Language Proficiency Standards
The SBOE also approved for second reading and final adoption:
Among other items on the agenda, the SBOE voted to grant several Generation 29 charters and vetoed the granting of a charter to Visionary STEM Academy. Pending contract approval and the reconciliation of any final contingencies, the following four Generation 29 charter school applicants are slated to begin serving Texas public school students for the 2025-2026 school year: Infinite Minds Charter School (Arlington), Pathway Academy (Big Spring), The Texas Girls School (Austin), and Unparalleled Preparatory Academy (Manor).
