On August 5, TEA released updated COVID-19 resources on their Coronavirus (COVID-19) Support and Guidance webpage. A list of the recently released guidance can be found below:

  • Public Health Guidance – Covers school responses when confirmed cases are discovered, masks, students who have COVID-19, and students who are close contacts.
  • Accelerated Learning Resources – Includes an overview and FAQ for HB 4545 which establishes new requirements for accelerated instruction for students who do not pass the STAAR.
  • Texas COVID Learning Acceleration Supports – Includes an overview of TCLAS funding and support areas, how to apply, and additional TCLAS information. The application for this funding closes on August 20 and award notifications will go out September 10.
  • Remote Instruction (VSN and Non-VSN) – Summarizes various statues and rules of relevance to school systems who wish to provide remote instruction to students in SY 2021-22, but are not authorized to do so as a full-time VSN operator.
  • Remote Conferencing FAQ – Highlights proposed rule language that TEA will provide to the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook concerning Remote Conferencing and answers questions districts may have concerning implementation.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Update – Overviews statewide PPE procurement distribution progress, vendor information, and the LEA financial account.
