The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $54,008,000 as follows:
* $28,405,000 from the Economically Distressed Areas Program and $1,990,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Agua Special Utility District (Hidalgo County) to finance first-time wastewater service;
* $460,000 from the Economically Distressed Areas Program to the City of Alamo (Hidalgo County) to finance first-time wastewater service;
* $3,013,000 from the Economically Distressed Areas Program to the Fort Hancock Water Control and Improvement District (Hudspeth County) to finance water system improvements;
* $5,000,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No. 21 (Harris County) to finance water and wastewater system improvements;
* $5,640,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Jefferson County Drainage District No. 6 (Jefferson County) to finance flood control improvements;
* $7,500,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund-Disadvantaged Community Program to the North Central Texas Municipal Water Authority (Haskell, Knox and Stonewall Counties) to finance water system improvements;
* $2,000,000 from the Agricultural Water Conservation Program to the Sandy Land Underground Water Conservation District (Yoakum County) to finance an agricultural water conservation program.
