The Texas Transportation Commission selected Marc Williams as the Texas Department of Transportation’s new executive director and Brandye Hendrickson as the new Deputy Executive Director. Williams has served as the agency’s deputy executive since 2016 and began his new role June 1, 2021. Williams has worked at TxDOT since 2012, when he joined the department as director of planning, serving in that role until 2015, when he was appointed TxDOT’s interim deputy director. Prior to joining TxDOT, Williams’ career has included leadership roles with a variety of public and private sector organizations involved with the planning, development and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects across the United States.
Hendrickson, currently Deputy Director of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), is filling the position vacated by Williams. She begins her new role at TxDOT July 19.
